Have you ever eaten just a chapati and had a sound sleep for hours?
Yes this is possible!
Puran Poli is a traditional Maharashtrian Dish and is so delicious that you will get a sound sleep for hours after having it.
Puran Poli is made during festivals such as Padwa and Holi.
It is served hot with Ghee spread on it. A sweet taste with flowing ghee on it is the taste one waits for.
How to make?
Chana dal is the main ingredient in the dish.
This Chana Dal is cooked well. Then a paste is made of this Chana Dal with mixer.
Sugar is added to the paste of Chana dal and then again mixed well.
Now the paste of Chana Dal is left for some time till it gets little cool down.
The next step is to make a dough of Wheat(kanik). This is similar to making chapati.
But now when you make it we have to make add a small dough of Chana dal inside the chapati(poli).
Now when you make the poli this process is very delicate. Care should be taken that the Puran(dough of Chana dal paste with sugar) will not split outside.
Now bake the poli and serve it with ghee spread on it. Isn't it delicious?
Try it atleast once.
